Maybe because it's my last day in Florence or I'm becoming accustomed to the heat but today felt cooler.
Anyone who has seen the thriller 'Obsession' with Cliff Robertson and Geneviève Bujold will recognise this scene. It was filmed at San Miniato al Monte which is situated on a high hill with great views of Florence.
This is another similar, beautiful church this time in the centre of Florence. It's called the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella.
Came across this large market and then discovered it really only sold one thing - bags! There must have been fifty stalls selling mainly leather bags, purses wallets and belts. The smell of leather was overpowering. Later on that day I discovered the reason. I walked down a small street and every second address was a leather factory. If bags (or leather) is your thing then come to Florence.
Coming back from having a beautiful pizza in a nice restaurant by the river I took this photo of the Ponte Vecchio bridge. Well that's all from Florence for now. I set off for Rome tomorrow. Any guesses as to what will be the first photo from Rome?
I'm guessing that the first photo from Rome will be the Vatican.
