Vivacious Venice

Went back to that very low passage just to show how low it was. Even passers-by were amazed that someone as tall as me could stand up in the passage.

Anyone getting tired of reflections yet? Anyone who is tired of reflections couldn't live in Venice.

These gondolas look so comfy.

...and so romantic.

A beautiful church in the centre of Venice

I went to see a collection of paintings by the Venetian painter, Tintoretto in this building. All the time I was in there the violinist, who you can just see in the shade, played the most beautiful classic music which floated in through the windows. When I came out I gave him some money and thanked him for the experience.

In Venice they're aren't many places to hang your washing so you invest in a strong clothes line and hang them above the canal.

If you've seen enough reflections then vote now in the comments box.

While we're on the subject of voting how many of you ladies (or men) could see me take over this gondolier's job?

Venice has so many of these dark passages. One moment you're in bright sunlight the next you're plunged into darkness.

Venice has so many nice windows decorated with gorgeous flowers.

This is the largest bridge I've seen in Venice. You walk over this bridge to pick up your car or get on a bus.

This is the closest you can get to Venice in your car. Once you're over the footbridge you enter a pedestrian heaven.

This is underneath the bridge. For a modern bridge it actually is designed well.

If you are unable to walk across the bridge you can get in one of these bubble cars which travels underneath the bridge.

Gondoliers waiting  for customers.

This is one of the most interesting bridges in Venice. It is called  Ponte De Le Tette or 'The Bridge of Breasts'. This bridge was the centre of the red light district in the 15th century. in 1421 they're were 11,600 registered prostitutes working here. At the time the city was concerned about the amount of male gay sex occurring so the prostitutes were encouraged to 'display their feminine wares' at the bridge. I of course left the area before it got dark.

Another view of the Tette bridge.

For all you Magnum lovers this shop sells nothing but. You buy naked Magnums which are then covered in the coatings of your choice. I am bringing some back for all my work colleagues. I just hope they survive the journey home.

You come to Venice expecting to ride in a gondola and find there are none to be had. That's because they hide them here out of sight. Supply and demand rules.

I love these well-polished wooden taxis.

With the sun just set where better to go than to sit outside a beautiful church enjoying your meal.

People coming off the canal bridge can't walk past this sweet and ice cream shop without looking in.

This lovely bridge only goes to one place. Straight into an expensive hotel.
